Indonesia government says that the deployment of broadband wireless access is going to be realized as the tender for Wimax will be opened in this month. The tender will cover 15 zones over the entire regions in Indonesia including: Sumatera which divided become northern, middle and southern, Jakarta and its suburban cities, Western of Java, Center of Java, Eastern of Java, Bali and Nusa Tenggara, Papua, Maluku (Molucas) and North of Maluku, Northern of Sulawesi, Southern of Sulawesi, Western of Kalimantan and Eastern of Kalimantan and Riau Islands.
Back to press release in the middle last month ago, the government stated that the tender will be executed not more than 19 April 2009. And commercialization of the infrastructure will be ready in May or June 2009. But the latest news I got this morning the tender will be delayed at the moment.
By well deploying Wimax infrastructure, the government expects users would enjoy accessing at high speed rate and wider range distant. According to some sources from Telco Company the coverage will be 50 km and the speed rate up higher than 3G up to 70 Mbps.
